EDIT: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we're very sad to say that, on November the 6th, 2009, Naomi passed away due to severe colic complications. She had showed sudden symptoms of colic at around 11:24 PM when our on-hand groom was doing the night rounds, so we did the usual treatments and analysis, such as taking her vitals, walking her, blanketing her, etc. Her condition rapidly degraded within an hour, and we promptly called our head veterinarian when we realized that this wasn't a run-of-the-mill gassy colic. He told us she needed urgent immediate surgery, and so by around 3 or 4 in the morning, we were arriving at the nearest equine hospital. Her condition was still deteriorating, to the point where she would literally throw herself on the ground in agony every few steps she took, and we had to whack her on the bum with a broom to keep her moving. The vets opened her up by 6:04 AM, but unfortunately, she later died under the knife, due to complications. We concluded, after analyzing the night's series of events and actions, that it was a pure fluke, and definitely no one's fault. Even with our superb nutrition plan and prevention plan, world-class health care and constant veterinary supervision, she managed to fall ill, regardless.
She was a wonderful horse, and will dearly be missed by the entire DDS staff. At least she threw two beautifully fillies during her wonderful lifetime with us.
I don't know what breed she is, however.. The build looks sort of Arabesque, but she doesn't really have a dished profile.. Please ignore the random anatomy farts!

Registered Name: DD Naomi Barn Name: Naomi Gender: Mare D.O.B.: 09/07/1997 Breed: Anglo-Arab Bloodline: Unknown Phenotype: Light, off-white grey with a bit of dapples on her rump, shoulders, neck, and a bit on her barrel. Darker grey stockings, fading past the hocks/knees on all legs, as well as a darker muzzle and ear tips. She also has a slightly crooked white stripe, and four, splotchy, uneven socks. Mane & tail are pure white with grey 'frosting' (little fading hairs at the dock and crest.) Usually carries a pink & white water-lily-esque flower behind her right ear, woven into the forelock. Eyes: Amber Genotype: Aa/Ee/Gg Height: 14.1hh Build: Very feminine, slim, curvy, and bootylicious. Has a nice, willowy frame, with dainty, thin legs, and a refined, arabesque head, minus the extra dish in the profile. Her muzzle is fine and tapered, and her hair is silken, flowy, and always spotlessly perfect. Breeder: N/A Owner/trainer: ~Hazel-rah of Double Dance. Temperament: Playful, motherly, and gentle. She's calm, friendly, open to strangers, and loves kids. Her favorite thing to do is romp in the paddock freely, and kick up her heels without a worry in the world. Is a great schooling mount, and always listens to her rider or trainer without hesitation. A bit of a goody-two-shoes, flawless little angel type of girl. Her only quirk is that she taunts stallions a lot, lol. Discipline(s): Schooling horse and broodmare, so, not much. Just a bit of basic jumping and groundwork. History: She was bred by a local breeder, and neglected until she was around 3 years old. Since she's a nice mover and is super friendly in any and all situations, Double Dance made an offer on her, and brought her back to health, once she came to the ranch. She's not really a superstar horse, but is still an asset to the stables, and in any case, she would've surely perished without our assistance, in her previous owner's care. May be sold to a schooling-only ranch, in the future. Awards & Winnings: N/A Offspring: DD Bat-and-Ball (chestnut filly, sired by Romero, owned by ~Hazel-rah.) Natalia (grey filly, sired by Beinion, owned by =EvilCheese2.). Death: 11/07/2009 due to colic
Thanks for the sympathies.
Methinks I want a trade with you sometime in the future. xD
